Are you into interaction design, graphic design, coding, or hacking? Do you fancy a chance to scare the living daylights out of someone and get your project seen by over 17 million people?
You’re in luck, because Digital Shoreditch is throwing the scariest event of the season.
Join us for our Halloween Scareathon at the uber-futuristic Ravensbourne campus as part of the London Transmedia Fest. The aim is to design, make, build, or create a project (virtual or actual) with the intent of scaring people out of their wits.
The winning team will receive VIP passes to the 2013 Digital Shoreditch Festival and their project will be featured on the MSN UK website which sees 17 million unique visitors a month.
For the devilishly reasonable price of £6.66, we’ll supply the pizza and refreshments, but the rest is up to you (fancy dress is highly encouraged).
Participants will also have a chance to enjoy the festival's closing party on Saturday evening in the main hall, where the prizes will be awarded and there will be a cash bar and plenty of opportunities to network and meet other festival-goers.
There are only 50 places avaliable and they're going fast, so sign up now.
*Please note: Computers will not be available at the event, so please bring your own laptop and cables.

A Message from Digital Shoreditch:

Hi all! With one week to go, we're gearing up for the Scareathon and just wanted to give an update.
This is going to be a fast and furious 9 hour hack, which should definitely be a fun challenge. Because of the relatively short time frame, we highly recommend you do as much idea generation and pre-planning beforehand as possible in order to enable a speedy build. "Quick and dirty" projects are fine, though we hope you'll want to continue working to refine them after the event is finished.
The schedule will be as follows:
8AM Doors open/set up
9AM Hacking officially starts
12:30PM Pizza arrives! Take a break or work through - up to you!
6PM Hacking stops
6:20 Judging commences
7PM Winners announced in main hall & closing party

As well as the scariest project, there will also be a prize for best costume. We'll also be offering scary giveaways and zombie face painting throughout the day for those who'd rather come as they are.
There is a cafe downstairs if you need a caffeine fix.
Remember to bring your laptop, cables and any additional hardware you may need if you plan to make a physical project (arduinos, connectors, controllers, etc).
